Zakat
Zakat is one of the five pillars of Islam: a set share of your savings, given each year to people who are entitled to it.
How we look after your Zakat
- It goes into a separate Zakat fund, never mixed with general donations.
- It's only offered on campaigns that have been checked and confirmed as Zakat-eligible. [Name of the scholar or Shariah committee who reviews eligibility, to be confirmed before launch.]
- If we ever can't spend it as intended, we'll contact you about moving it to another eligible campaign or refunding it.
Working out your Zakat
If you're not sure how much you owe, please ask a scholar you trust. We're happy to answer questions about how we use Zakat, but we can't give religious rulings.
